24 November: Darwin's Origin is published, and a bowl of Oxtail Soup
On 24 November 1859 John Murray published Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species in London. A book about how creatures change over time gets a British bowl with a tail of its own: rich, slow-simmered oxtail soup.
