7 July: Chichén Itzá named a New 7 Wonder, and a bowl of Sopa de Lima
On 7.7.07 Chichén Itzá was named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The Maya city stands in Yucatán, so the wonder is toasted with Yucatán's own sopa de lima, chicken soup scented with the region's lima citrus.

Sopa de lima is a fragrant chicken soup from Yucatán in south-east Mexico. Its unusual flavour comes from the lima, a local citrus with a floral, slightly bitter aroma, sliced into the broth at the end.
