21 July: The Tour de France conquers the Pyrenees, and a bowl of Garbure

On 21 July 1910 the Tour de France rode over the Tourmalet and the Aubisque for the first time, and Octave Lapize called the organisers "assassins". The Aubisque stands in the Béarn, and only the Béarn's garbure, a cabbage and bean soup thick enough to stand a spoon in, could match a day that tough.
