22 May: Pac-Man meets the public, and a bowl of Pork Miso Soup
On 22 May 1980 Namco first put Pac-Man in front of players at a Tokyo arcade, and the hungry yellow hero has been munching through mazes ever since. Tonjiru suits his appetite: a miso soup packed with pork, daikon, carrot, burdock, taro, tofu and konnyaku to gobble one after another.

Pork Miso Soup
Japan6.5
Tonjiru is a hearty Japanese miso soup filled with thin slices of pork and plenty of root vegetables, such as daikon, carrot, burdock and taro, along with konnyaku and tofu. The pork and vegetables are sautéed in a little sesame oil before dashi is added, then miso is dissolved at the end.
